Sruthi was formed in 2005 by a small group of of friends living in the UK and originating from Kerala, India , who were united by passion and fondness towards art, literature and culture of Kerala . Sruthi was formed with the intention of maintaining this passion, to explore ways of further nourishing it through direct interaction with artists and literary figures from Kerala, to maintain, identify and develop artistic talents and to stage existing and new talent at appropriate venues. Sruthi was formally inaugurated on 1st Ocober 2005 by Padma Vibhushan Prof.O.N.V.Kurup, the internationally acclaimed Malayalam poet.

Sruthi Now

Just past its infancy, Sruthi now has nearly fifty member families, who come from all over UK. Sruthi has grown into a major art and cultural forum and is well known both in the UK and in Kerala. Sruthi's annual events have grown in quality and popularity through the years and these are keenly attended by genuine lovers of art and culture from different ethnic groups.

15th Sruthi Annual Day is on Sunday 5 May 2019. The venue will be Horizon Theatre, Horizon Community College, Dodworth Road Barnsley, S70 6PD. Dr. P K Rajasekharan (Eminent scholar, literary critic and orator) and Kalaimamani Smt Gopika Varma ( Popular Mohiniyattam dancer) will be our Chief Guests this year.
